ㅤThe subject of this history challenge was born on November 2, 1795 in a log cabin in Pineville, North Carolina. His father was a farmer and slave owner. The family would later move to Tennessee where they would dominate politics in Maury County and the new town of Columbia.
ㅤThe subject had frail health as a child, once suffering from urinary stones which had to be surgically removed. No anesthetic other than brandy. It’s suspected that the surgery left him sterile, as he never had any children.
ㅤHe was destined to become President of the United States and be credited with the acquisition of the American Southwest from Mexico in 1848. Go to the comments section and name the subject of this history challenge.
