AFL-CIO Leads Unions in Rejecting Green New Deal

Pictured: Ocasio-Cortez y mucho bien Titteros.

ㅤ”The AFL-CIO Energy Committee has issued a letter to the Democrats pushing for a Green New Deal, rejecting the proposal as ‘not achievable or realistic,’ according to the Washington Examiner.
ㅤThe AFL-CIO’s letter was written on behalf of eight other unions, including North America’s Building Trades Unions and United Steelworkers, and sent to Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who introduced the Green New Deal resolution last month.
ㅤ’We welcome the call for labor rights and dialogue with labor, but the Green New Deal resolution is far too short on specific solutions the speak to the jobs our members and the critical sectors of the economy,’ the AFL-CIO said in the letter. ‘We will not accept proposals that could cause immediate harm to millions of our members and their families. We will not stand by and allow threats to our members’ jobs and their families’ standard of living go unanswered.'”

Paul Ryan: Dem Could Beat Trump in 2020 If He Relies on Personality

ㅤô¿ô …Based on this stupid remark, Trump is sure to win. Harris is an angry black woman, Warren is a ditz, Bernie is deranged and Biden is a blubbering idiot.
ㅤRyan is wrong about needing to "talk up" the economy. The economy is one of the few issues that speaks for itself.

ㅤ"Judge Trevor N. McFadden, appointed by Mr. Trump and confirmed to the court in 2017, will hear the cases.
ㅤAnother lawsuit was filed Monday in California by 16 Democrat-led states.
ㅤLawyers had said Mr. Trump’s opponents would have better luck by trying to get an Obama-appointed judge to hear their legal challenge."

Trump declares national emergency on border, taking extra money for wall

ㅤ"President Trump declared a national emergency on the southern border Friday, saying he’ll defy Congress to divert about $6.5 billion in unspent federal funds to build more border walls that lawmakers have refused to authorize.
ㅤ’We’re going to confront the national security crisis at our southern border,’ the President said. ‘We’re talking about an invasion of our country.’
ㅤHe called the declaration ‘a great thing to do.’
ㅤIn a Rose Garden event, the President signed a spending bill to keep the government open, a measure that provides nearly $1.4 billion for border barriers.
ㅤBut after months of bitter debate with Democrats and a 35-day government shutdown over border security, Mr. Trump said the bill doesn’t go far enough to address the crisis of illegal immigration and drug smuggling on the border with Mexico. The deal includes a record $23 billion for border security measures.’"

Budget deal allows far less money than Trump wanted for wall

ㅤ"Republicans were desperate to avoid another bruising shutdown. They tentatively agreed Monday night to far less money for President Donald Trump’s border wall than the White House’s $5.7 billion wish list, settling for a figure of nearly $1.4 billion, according to congressional aides. The funding measure is through the fiscal year, which ends on Sept. 30."

Appeals court sides with Trump in border wall prototype dispute

ㅤ"The ruling marked a rare win for Trump in the 9th Circuit, a court that has become a particular annoyance for the President after judges there blocked his administration’s travel ban and its new asylum policy.
ㅤJudge M. Margaret McKeown, a Clinton appointee, issued the court’s majority ruling on Monday. She was joined by Jacqueline Nguyen, an Obama appointee."

Beto O’Rourke sees stock fall

ㅤô¿ô …Beto also sees that the current group of Washington insiders who have entered the race are all losers wasting their money. Beto is probably waiting for Biden’s decision before potentially wasting his own money.

Trump agrees to end shutdown

ㅤ"’If we don’t get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shut down on Feb. 15 again or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws and the Constitution of the United States to address this emergency,’ the President said. ‘No border security plan can never work without a physical barrier,’ he added. ‘It just doesn’t happen.’"

GOP senator: 'I'm not sure that the President fully understands what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck'

ㅤô¿ô …Apparently Collins doesn’t understand. Because of the keep-up-with-the-jone’s attitude in the USA and high cost of college, practically the entire middle class lives pay check to pay check. Many live in houses they really can’t afford. Many carry significant credit card debt. Many allow their children to be freeloaders.

Tucker Carlson: ‘Identity politics will destroy this country faster than a foreign invasion’

ㅤô¿ô …I almost feel sorry for liberals when their dreams are shattered by historical facts.
ㅤReally though. What’s going on is too irrational to be described as identity politics. What we are experiencing is revenge of the oppressed upon the oppressors. Regarding this topic, history says we should be afraid. Very afraid.

Documents indicate detailed plans for Trump Tower Moscow: report

ㅤô¿ô …I have few opinions about U.S./Russia relations. Except that Russia and the U.S. will not stop playing their dangerous games until the politicians stop playing their dangerous games. The politicians will not stop until the politicians can no longer manipulate public opinion via the Russia/U.S. relationship. Only the American people can solve the problems between the U.S. and Russia.

Eric Holder cites 'Watergate precedent,' demands Donald Trump congressional probe

ㅤô¿ô …If you truly understand Watergate, then you know that a scandal is meaningless unless Hollywood can make a good movie out of it with the movie starring top notch Hollywood actors.
ㅤThe movie requires (1) a great opening such as a gang of thugs robbing a hotel room, (2) a subtle reference to pornography such as “Deep Throat,” (3) a traitor like John Dean, (4) superheroes like Woodward & Bernstein who prove that just two well-intentioned people can face impossible odds and triumph over evil, and finally the most important is (5) a President who is so paranoid that he winds up digging his own grave.
ㅤSo far the Trump era has yielded what would make a decent documentary. But if given the choice to watch the documentary or golf, the American public would choose to watch golf.
