ㅤ"’The show begins with a live orchestra performing an overture of holidays songs, as the choir proceeds down Main Streets,’ reports TPI. ‘As they enter Town Square, we hear the 600 voices for the first time, as the orchestra accompanies their procession on to the stage, illuminated by their candles and the Star of Bethlehem on the Main Street train station.’
ㅤ’More than a dozen local school, church, and community choirs joined singers from the Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios cast,’ the report continues. ‘The program includes all the greatest hits of the holiday choral repertoire, including ‘Away in a Manger,’ ‘Angels We Have Heard on High,’ ‘What Child Is This?’ and ‘Silent Night,’ interspersed with the telling of the Christmas story from the Bible.’"

Making Christmas Merry Again: Retail Sales Boom 4.9 Percent

ㅤ”Shoppers were out in force this year, pushing retail sales up at their fastest pace since 2011, according to Mastercard SpendingPulse.
ㅤSales rose 4.9 percent from November 1 through Christmas Eve, handily beating the 3.7 percent gain of last year. Online retail sales rose 18.1 percent.
ㅤ’Overall, this year was a big win for retail,’ Mastercard’s Sarah Quinlan told the Wall Street Journal.
ㅤThe rising sales figures reflect near record high consumer confidence and a strong jobs market. Consumer confidence hit its highest level in 17 years in November. Unemployment fell to a 17 year low in October.”

Pew Report: Two-Thirds of Americans Believe ‘Jesus Was Born to a Virgin’

ㅤ”A full 66 percent of U.S. adults believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, Pew reports, while 68 percent of Americans say that the three wise men were guided by a star and brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the infant Jesus. Meanwhile, 67 percent of Americans believe that an angel of the Lord announced Jesus’ birth to shepherds and that the newborn baby Jesus was laid in a manger.
ㅤA majority of Americans—57 percent—believe in the full biblical account of Jesus’ birth, with all of the elements related by Saints Luke and Matthew in their gospel narratives, Pew found.
ㅤEven among millennials, whom studies have shown to be much less religious than prior generations of Americans, belief in each of the four components of the Nativity account exceeds 50 percent.
ㅤA clear divide was also noted along partisan lines, with nearly two-thirds of Republicans saying they will attend church on Christmas (65 percent), while among Democrats, less than half (45 percent) say they plan on attending religious services this year.”
