FBI opens probe into Dayton mass shooting

ㅤ"’We have uncovered evidence throughout the course of our investigation that the shooter was exploring violent ideologies, and based upon this evidence, we’re initiating an FBI investigation side by side with the Dayton Police Department,’ Todd Wickerham, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Cincinnati field office, said at a news conference.
ㅤWickerham said the investigation will focus on figuring out what ideologies influenced 24-year-old Connor Betts, who might have helped Betts before the attack and why he chose the specific target of Dayton’s Oregon entertainment district."

Trump:The American Years

By John Solomon and Buck Sexton Opinion Contributors

President Trump in an exclusive interview with Hill.TV said Tuesday he ordered the release of classified documents in the Russia collusion case to show the public the FBI probe started as a “hoax,” and that exposing it could become one of the “crowning achievements” of his presidency.“What we’ve done is a great service to the country, really,” Trump said in a 45-minute, wide-ranging interview in the Oval Office.“I hope to be able to call this, along with tax cuts and regulation and all the things I’ve done… in its own way this might be the most important thing because this was corrupt,” he said.Trump also said he regretted not firing former FBI Director James Comey immediately instead of waiting until May 2017, confirming an account his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, gave Hill.TV earlier in the day that Trump was dismayed in 2016 by…

Sanctuary cities pressured with Justice grant programs

p50664article29025485whp.png

ㅤ"The Justice Department broadened its effort to rein in sanctuary cities Thursday, announcing new conditions on four grant programs designed to pressure localities to provide information and access to federal immigration authorities.
ㅤLocalities looking for money from the grant programs will have to certify that they allow officers to report on the status of illegal immigrants, they allow deportation officers access to their jails and they will give advance notice before releasing people the government wants to detain.
ㅤAs a brand-new condition, localities will have to certify they comply with federal laws against harboring or smuggling illegal immigrants."ㅤ

Sources: FBI Agents Afraid To Testify, Say Congress Likely Won’t Protect Them

p28article222343whp.jpg

ㅤ"One special agent, when asked about being subpoenaed, said, ‘This is a great opportunity for senior or [soon to be retiring] guys, not for someone like me. It’d be suicide. I hate to say it, but neither the judiciary nor the executive branch is wielding any kind of effective oversight right now, and the top managers know it.’
ㅤHe continued, ‘You still have a ton of bad people in place. Unless that changes, and I haven’t seen any degree of seriousness on the part of ranking members nor staffers, I’m not meeting with anyone nor willing to be subpoenaed. I’m not coming forward until they get their act together. Right now, it’d be sacrificing a career for cheap political points.’
ㅤTheDC has learned that the bureau has already warned agents that the agency will come back viciously against all those ‘behind destroying their narrative, and will go after their families and friends, too.’"ㅤ

Department of Justice sues California over sanctuary status

DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SUES CALIFORNIA OVER ‘SANCTUARY’ STATUSp06221015.jpg

ㅤ”The Department of Justice is taking action against the state of California — including Gov. Jerry Brown and Attorney General Xavier Becerra — for three laws they say obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration law.
ㅤThe Justice Department’s lawsuit — expected to be filed Tuesday night in the Eastern District of California — is asking for Assembly Bill 450, Senate Bill 54, and Assembly Bill 103 to be nullified.
ㅤJustice Department officials explained ahead of the filing that the three laws — which were all passed within the past year — are pre-empted by federal law and therefore violate the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution.”

WSJ: A Reckoning for the FBI

WSJ: A RECKONING FOR THE FBIp03135636.png

ㅤStory via the Arlin Report – “If all of this is damaging to the reputation of the FBI and Justice Department, then that damage is self-inflicted. We recognize the need for the FBI to sometimes spy on Americans to keep the country safe, but this is a power that should never be abused. Its apparent misuse during the Presidential campaign needs to be fully investigated.
ㅤToward that end, the public should see more of the documents that are behind the competing intelligence memos to judge who is telling the truth. Mr. Trump and the White House should consider the remedy of radical transparency.”

WSJ: AGENTS’ TEXTS REVEAL MCCABE KNEW OF CLINTON EMAILS FOR AT LEAST A MONTHㅤp31224015.jpg

ㅤ”McCabe’s apparent inaction on the emails, which were found on the laptop of disgraced New York Rep. Anthony Weiner (D) during his sex crimes investigation, is the subject of an FBI inspector general investigation, which seeks to discover whether McCabe withheld the information from the public for political reasons.
ㅤThe text message in question was sent by controversial FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was removed from the Russia investigation after it was revealed he had sent texts allegedly revealing political bias against the President.
ㅤ’Got called up to Andy’s earlier,’ Strzok wrote in a Sept. 28 text, which continued: ‘hundreds of thousands of emails turned over by Weiner’s atty to sdny, includes a ton of material from spouse. Sending team up tomorrow to review … this will never end.'”
