Trump administration announces opioid waivers for states

ㅤ”The Utah waiver helps people who have an opioid addiction and are homeless or in prison or jail. It is expected to expand treatment to as many as 6,000 Utah residents.
ㅤUtah Gov. Gary Herbert praised the the President administration for allowing the state to address opioid abuse in the state’s homeless population.
ㅤ’I’ve always maintained the role of the federal government should be to provide states with the flexibility to be innovative in how they operate their Medicaid programs,’ he said. ‘Nobody knows how to address the unique challenges we face as a state better than we do.'”
