ㅤ"’Treasury remains committed to targeting Russian-backed entities that seek to profit from Russia’s illegal annexation and occupation of Crimea,’ said Sigal Mandelker, Treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence. ‘Our sanctions are a clear reminder that efforts seeking to normalize investment and economic relationships with those operating in Crimea will not be tolerated.’"

ㅤ"The Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), signed decades ago in a landmark meeting between former President Ronald Reagan and then-leader of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev in 1986, allows the U.S. to counter Chinese efforts to amass arms in the Pacific but prevents the U.S. from deploying new weapons in response, The Times noted.
ㅤChina, however, is not a signatory to the treaty and faces no limitations in developing intermediate-range nuclear missiles. As a signatory, the Times reported, Russia has been violating the pact since at least 2014."

ㅤ"Seagal, who is not just a martial arts master but also a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin (and a Russian citizen, thanks to a special decree from Putin conferred last year), is tasked with working ‘in the humanitarian sphere,’ and reaching out to Americans ‘in the sphere of culture, public and youth exchanges,’ CNN reports.
ㅤAccording to reports, the role will be along the lines of a United Nations goodwill ambassador — a sort of mascot and public relations representative. The Russian government apparently feels that Seagal commands some importance and relevance in American society, even though Seagal hasn’t starred in a movie that opened somewhere other than ‘on demand’ in more than a decade."

ㅤô¿ô …Let’s see. Polls show that most Americans’ attitude toward Russia has become apathy. And deep down, everyone knows that the only way to deal with Russia is through detente.
ㅤOf course everyone is still worried about healthcare. Even those of us with employer provided plans. Believe or not, polls show that a large majority of Americans are open to single-payer health insurance.
ㅤThe midterms will elect Senators and Congressmen, the Republicans being fully responsible for the healthcare fiasco of 2017. On the other hand, Congress has not been involved in Trump’s Russia troubles.
ㅤIt’s clear what the Dems should emphasize to a well-informed, intelligent public. But the majority of the public are stupid people. Fortunately the Dems are the dumbest. After all, they’re losers.ㅤ

ㅤô¿ô …Indeed they are. Russia continues to target our industrial/commercial infrastructure, as does China, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico and every other industrialized nation in the world.
ㅤThe thing is, that among others, the Clintons, the environmentalists, the democratic socialists and the globalists are helping them.ㅤ

ㅤ"The President referred to the summit as a ‘loose meeting’ on Thursday while stating that Putin is ‘not my enemy’ and that the U.S. and Russia are ultimately ‘competitors.’
ㅤ’I think we’ll get along well. But ultimately he’s a competitor. He’s representing Russia. I’m representing the United States. So in a sense we’re competitors, not a question of friend or enemy. He’s not my enemy,’ the President said.
ㅤ’Hopefully some day, maybe he’ll be a friend. It could happen, but I don’t know him very well,’ he added."ㅤ

ㅤô¿ô …It’s probably because the President has a much more effective means of “retaliating” against Russia. Trump’s policies are helping to drive down the price of oil. The policies will also reduce dependence on foreign oil.
ㅤOil production is the lifeblood of Russia. I don’t believe Russia is focused on cyberattacks. Instead Russia funds environmental groups that seek to thwart the President’s goal to export more oil.
